About our school

Jerangle is a small but well-resourced rural school located in the Monaro region of NSW.

The school is somewhat isolated as the district it serves revolves around the sheep/cattle industry and all of the children come from local farms. The school itself was first established in 1884, and for most of the time it has remained a one-teacher school. The core values of the school are respect, integrity, trust and responsibility while providing quality education to the rural community at Jerangle. The school's vision is to enable children to learn and play, to be children and to share their experiences in their own life long journey. The school offers a warm, caring educational environment where community involvement is welcomed. Children are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally to their full potential. The school offers an academic program which caters for a wide range of students. Jerangle implements strong literacy and numeracy programs and actively participates in science, PE, sport and art activities. There is a high level of engagement by each student in the home reading program to promote learning at home and at school.

The school handbook provides a wealth of information about the day to day operation of our school.
